Happy first Friday in December! This is a countdown month!
So much learning has taken place in fourth grade! Here's a brief recap.
In math, we've been learning many different strategies to solve multiplication problems beginning with drawing disks to represent numbers on a place value chart. Then, we learned how to find partial products. Now, we're doing the standard algorithm. We've also worked on solving word problems that require multiplication. Your mathematician should be able to identify different angles for you. Ask them to find a right angle, an obtuse angle, and an acute angle in your home.
Scientists have been learning about parts of a cell and the brain. Be sure to ask them what they know.
Learning about different regions in Washington has been the target for social studies. Ask your fourth grader to share what they know.
Here fourth graders are playing a game to learn new vocabulary words in reading.
