Happy Spring!
Hopefully you are all scheduled for a conference next week. I'm looking forward to meeting with you to share your child's learning. Fourth grade is certainly a big year on the learning curve in all content areas. So much to do and so little time, from a teacher's perspective anyway!
The totem poles look fabulous! Thank you for everything you do at home to support your kiddo!
Math: Working with fractions has been the target. Ask your mathematician to tell you the definitions for the following vocabulary words we've been using: fraction, numerator, denominator, decomposing, composing, and equivalent. Have your mathematician show you how to find an equivalent fraction.
Writing: Fourth graders across the district are hard at work writing an opinion piece about the hardships pioneers faced on the Oregon Trail. Ask your author to tell you about the challenges they are elaborating on in their writing.
Reading: All our reading has been about the journey west in order to have multiple sources to draw from for our writing.
Our science and social studies rotations halted, while we worked on our writing and finished up all of assessments.
Five Mile Prairie Grange donated dictionaries to all our Prairie View fourth graders!
Love having our grandparents and special guests visit!
Want Ad presentations continue! So love hearing about family life styles, traditions, and beliefs! The kids just beam when they're sharing!
This week's one to answer: Write an equivalent fraction for 2/3. Use multiplication to prove you're correct.
