Lots has been happening in fourth grade!

Reading: Together we read, "my brother Martin", "Barbara Jordan, A Powerful Speaker "and" It Took Courage" and learned about Thurgood Marshall and Ruby Bridges.  Identifying clues that led to the author's purpose was our target as well as comparing and contrasting the lives of these honorable Americans. Ask your author to share.

Another testing window has come and gone for readers. Ask about the most recent results for your reader's rate and accuracy.

Working with many prefixes meaning not such as dis, un, im, il, in, and ir was a target and we also "reviewed" the use of the prefix re. Be sure to ask your expert for some examples. It's been fun working with figurative language, too.

Math: Work with prime and composite numbers continues and long division to the hundreds place has been our "prime" target.

Mr. Utley was the teacher helper!

Writing: Authors have been hard at work going through the writing process. They have written an informational piece on snow.  It's typed and ready to share!

Science: Ask your scientist about the 5 different types of human body cells we've studied. You should hear some facts that make your skin crawl. (We've been exploring figuaritive language.)

Ticket trade!

Cones are going up!

Tayla shared her trip to Costa Rica!
