HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here's a look back at the holidays!

On to what we've been working on this year!

Math: Mathematicians have been working hard on "long division style" as we call it after learning a song to help us remember the steps. This week's one to answer is  87 divided by 7. Write the problem down and show the steps. Don't forget to check your work by multiplying the quotient and the divisor to get the dividend, or whole. This week we're working on listing factors for numbers and determining whether or not they are composite or prime.

Writing: Narrative is the target. We mapped out "The Snowman" to identify the elements of a narrative and discussed their purpose. Have your author tell you what they know. Next, we will start working on the prompt which will require a lot of reading and note taking.  Stay tuned!

Art: Mrs. Peffer took us to Narnia in art! Artists used a variety of geometric shapes and explored the concept of perspective to create the setting. Take a look at the finished product!
