We have been busy!
It's test taking time so they can razzle dazzle you at conferences with all their knowledge. Rotations have begun. Yay! In Mrs. Well's room they learned about the Louisiana Purchase. Mrs. Wrigley started teaching geometry. Mrs. Wiser and I are partnering up for science. Mrs. Wiser is teaching concepts of electricity and in my room we're investigating the force of magnetism. Ms. Cozza is working with them on test taking skills and how to use computer tools that are available to them.
Science
Prairie View students filled the Hawk nest with Hawk awards
and school wide Bingo was the reward!
Congratulations to our winners!
Reading
Ask your reader about Martin Luther King Jr. and the new knowledge they have about this famous American. We worked on summarizing, author's purpose and many new vocabulary words. This week's one to answer: Name the 3 purposes that inspire authors to write.

Writing
This week we'll begin writing our narrative. Your author's writing task is to write a narrative with all its part and include information about a country of their choice in their story. Ask your author about their work.
Math
We are wrapping up our work with multiplication and division. Your mathematician should be able to multiply a 2 digit number by a 2 digit number and tackle a division problem with a dividend to the hundreds place and a single digit divisor. A plethora of strategies have been placed in their mathematics tool box. We learned about factors and multiples and have solved many word problems.
